“It is in Europe’s fundamental interests for there to be stability in the Arab region, otherwise people will begin migrating from there”, Bence Tuzson said on Hungarian M1 television.
The Minister of State for Government Communication explained: In Egypt, the population is increasing by 2.6 million people-a-year, over the space of four years Egypt’s population will increase by more than the total population of Hungary, and accordingly the population explosion there could have significant effects. The birth rate among Christians is much lower, with an average of two children, while Muslim families have an average of 6-7 children, he also noted.
According to Mr. Tuzson, people who for whatever reason are unable to remain at their place of residence will begin to migrate, thus increasing immigration pressure on Europe. There is currently still migration pressure on the Hungarian border and this is unlikely to change in the near future, according to the Government.
