According to the Prime Minister’s Chief Advisor on Homeland Security, intervention and determined action by Brussels with relation to the migration crisis is becoming increasingly urgent.
Speaking on Hungarian M1 television’s Saturday evening current affairs program, György Bakondi said migration remains at the same level as in previous weeks; an average of 100-120 illegal immigrants are caught trying to cross the Hungarian border every day.
Marine migration routes are becoming active again, however, as proven by the fact that migrants are now also appearing in Crete. Whether with regard to pressure via land or sea, Brussels must implement urgent and effective measures including for internal security reasons, he explained.
According to Mr. Bakondi, it is equally urgent that a solution be found for the situation in Lybia to prevent thousands of migrants a day setting out for Europe.
