There is further statistical evidence that immigration does not in the least serve as a solution to Europe’s labour market problems, and would in actual fact only aggravate them, the Minister of State at the Cabinet Office of the Prime Minister told the Hungarian News Agency MTI on Thursday.
Csaba Dömötör pointed out: according to the data published a couple of days ago, just over 50 immigrants started working for the largest German companies, while more than 1 million migrants arrived in Germany last year alone.
The Minister of State also highlighted the calculations of an institute based in Cologne, according to which the management of immigration will cost Germany some EUR 50 billion in the next two years.
While several leaders of the European Union look upon mass migration as an opportunity, the vast majority of the immigrants of working age arriving in Europe have no qualifications of any kind, the politician said.
He also said: the Government disputes that mass immigration and forced settlement create an opportunity for improving the employment situation. The Cabinet regards the Brussels policy as particularly flawed because there are a great many young people in Europe struggling to find a job, he added, the percentage of youth unemployment is over 20 per cent, and in some southern countries every second young person is jobless.
„We believe that Brussels should provide jobs for these people primarily”, he stated, adding: they are at home here, in Europe, and have qualifications. We must show our solidarity above all to young people who were born here, he said.
„It is obvious that the forced settlement which Brussels is planning to impose would only aggravate the European labour market problems”, the Minister of State pointed out. „We believe it is important that every Hungarian should state their view on the matter, and it is also for this reason that we are asking everyone to take part in the referendum to be held on 2 October”, he said.
