Minister of State for Government Communication told Hungarian television channel M1 on Tuesday that it is justified that border protection costs should not be borne only by Hungary since in the migration crisis, Hungary does not only protect its own borders but those of Europe as well.

It was in this situation that Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has asked President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker to reimburse half of the expenses spent on border protection amounting to HUF 270 billion.

Mr. Tuzson added that the contribution would not be unprecedented: HUF 450 billion has been allocated for Greece, HUF 225 billion for Italy and HUF 80 billion for Bulgaria for this purpose.
