Minister of State for Government Communication Bence Tuzson told public television channel M1 that it is the Government’s task to protect people; 2016 must be about maintaining and strengthening security.

The Minister of State said that if Greece is not able to protect its borders, the Visegrád countries have to put in place a plan B, which means that people will have to be “caught” at the borders of Bulgaria and Macedonia.

If we do succeed in implementing this plan B, we must reinforce the Hungarian line of defence, Mr. Tuzson explained.

He said that “the danger is not over, we are sitting on a powder keg (…) as concerns the Southern borders, because there is a great pressure”. He also noted that the mandatory resettlement quotas also pose risks.

Mr. Tuzson said that we are talking about “a multiple of Hungary’s population”, who could set off to Europe any time, and this bears serious security risks, he added.
