The government has published the results of the national consultation.
The government published the detailed results of the national consultation on its own website which were also certified by a notary public.
Results show that Hungarians support the wearing of face masks in the largest majority; 83 per cent selected this option. This is followed by the restriction of the organisation of events (79 per cent) and the closure of state borders (also 79 per cent). Social distancing was supported by 78 per cent, the restriction of the exportation of protective equipment was supported by 64 per cent, while the shopping slot reserved for the elderly was supported by 62 per cent. Sixty-one per cent selected free parking and the closure of educational institutions, while restrictions on movement had a 59 per cent support base.
The consultation has additionally created clear points of understanding on a number of important issues. For instance, the vast majority of respondents agreed that a state of disease control preparedness must be maintained in health care as long as the risk of the return of the epidemic exists. There was also wide agreement that we must further strengthen the disease control protection of elderly care homes. At the same time, the vast majority of respondents further agreed that the purchase of local products and services must be promoted and domestic tourism must be popularised.
During the fight against the epidemic, decisions are being made on the basis of professional considerations. At the same time, the results of the consultation provide a good basis for determining which measures Hungarians support most. We would like to thank everyone who took the time to complete the questionnaire and state their views. The fact that so many have done so further strengthens our unity against the epidemic.
