Taking action against migration and organisations which organise and finance migration is a moral and political duty of the government, the Minister of State for Government Communication said on the public service television news channel M1 on Tuesday.

Bence Tuzson highlighted it is a moral duty of the government to guarantee the protection of the people. Additionally, the Hungarian people imposed an obligation on the government to take action in the relevant referendum and national consultation as well, and this is why the Stop Soros legislative package has been devised.

According to plans, the package will take action against organisations which arrange and finance migration on three points: it will introduce an obligation of registration as well as an obligation of duty payment, and will allow individuals involved in the organisation or funding of migration to be banned from the border zone, the Minister of State said.

He added they are expecting resistance to the proposed legislation, but this is no reason to back down.

Mr Tuzson said on Kossuth Radio’s “180 Minutes” programme that the Stop Soros package is a thoroughly considered proposal which fully fits into the Hungarian legal system. At the same time, they are awaiting to hear people’s opinions, and the text of the bill is accessible on the site kormany.hu.

They would like the bill to become law within the shortest possible time because defence efforts cannot be delayed, the Minister of State said.
