On Thursday evening, Minister of State for Government Communication Bence Tuzson told public television channel M1 that the Government’s long-term objective is always to reduce taxes on the “income side” of the balance sheet: to reduce the rate of personal income tax.
The Minister of State said that this tax cut could be implemented if Hungary’s economic performance improves.
Mr. Tuzson pointed out that economic figures are currently favourable. They are in fact much better than experts had anticipated, he said, adding that the country’s possibilities have therefore improved.
Excellent economic results have made it possible to implement an upward budget correction, which provides the possibility to introduce pay increases in certain sectors, Mr. Tuzson said. He added that this could happen after preparation of the budget for 2017.
