The government has adopted another extraordinary measure in the interest of protecting the Hungarian people’s health care supply for the duration of the state of danger. They have banned the exportation from Hungary of a pharmaceutical raw material used for curing coronavirus patients.

According to the government decree just released, during the present state of danger, the exportation from Hungary of the active ingredient Hydroxychloroquine Sulphate as well as of drugs and pharmaceutical intermediate products containing this active ingredient is prohibited. This raw material is used for the production of drugs which are used also in the treatment of coronavirus patients in several countries. As Hungary is one of the world’s largest exporters of this raw material, protecting the Hungarian population and its drug supply is the number one priority.
