Parliamentary State Secretary at the Cabinet Office of the Prime Minister Csaba Dömötör said that after the tragedy in Brussels, even Leftist parties cannot deny anymore that there is a clear connection between unlimited migration and the threat of terrorism.

The lessons from the Brussels attacks must be learned. This is why the Government of Hungary has decided on an action plan to combat terrorism. The Cabinet is not asking for anything more or less than the means that other EU Governments have, the State Secretary added.

Referring to the anti-terrorism action plan, Minister of Interior Sándor Pintér said that the proposals aim for developments in the fields of staffing, technical equipment and assets. Furthermore, the Cabinet would like to strengthen the Counter Terrorism Centre and ensure a smooth flow of information. Talking about the latter goal, Mr. Pintér said that the Government has also decided to establish a counter-terrorism information and criminal investigation centre. The task of this centre will be to use expert knowledge to analyse and evaluate available information, and to support national security and police organisations in their work by warning them of potential security events.
