As many as 1,633,000 persons have already stated their opinions in the national consultation, and therefore already at this point we may conclude that this will be one of the most popular consultations, the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Cabinet Office of the Prime Minister stressed on his Facebook account on Tuesday afternoon.

In his video post, Csaba Dömötör observed that there was a reason for this. The coronavirus pandemic keeps raging around the world. The number of confirmed infections is near 22 million, while the number of victims has reached 800,000. “This is a threat which we must continue to take seriously,” he added.

The State Secretary highlighted that the virus was also present in Hungary. The government will be able to fight against the epidemic successfully also in the future if they know which measures the Hungarian people support and which are the most important points of understanding.

This is what the consultation is in aid of, Mr Dömötör said, thanking everyone who has already shared their views or will do so during the remaining few days. The final deadline for the submission of the questionnaires is 31 August.

“Every opinion matters,” he said.
