Turkey is a key player in European security.

The big question of the period ahead is which way Turkey will open its borders, whether towards Syria or Europe. It is in Hungary’s best interest that those staying in Turkey should return to Syria and should rebuild their country, rather than turn towards Europe, causing a migrant crisis on an even larger scale than before, György Bakondi stated.

According to the Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister, we need a new migration policy. As expected, the new European Commission will not continue its predecessor’s policy, but we have yet to learn about the details.
