All celebratory programmes have been held successfully in the capital, the Office of the Government Spokesperson informed the Hungarian news agency MTI on Monday evening.

In their communication, they highlighted that in the past three days tens of thousand of people had attended the event venues, while some 250,000 people had attended the Monday evening fireworks on site.

They further pointed out in their communication that during the more than fifteen-hour operation of the operational corps on duty from 7.00 a.m., based on the information received, it is possible to conclude that all programmes have been implemented safely, successfully and according to plan.

By 10.00 p.m. Monday night the police secured the peaceful implementation of 366 events throughout the country. 289 of these were state and municipality events, 66 were cultural events, there were four events coming under the effect of the assembly legislation and there were seven events of a different nature. During the events the attending police personnel helped ten persons within the framework of security measures, checked the identities of 24 individuals, detained four persons, and filed reports against two individuals due to minor offences.

The corps responsible for supervising the safe implementation of the 20 August national events finished its work after filing its last reports, at 10.45 p.m.

In its communication the operational corps thanked colleagues involved in the successful implementation of the events for their work.
