The article published in the newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) which claims that an agreement is soon to be reached with respect to the distribution of refugees is „no more than German electioneering hot air”, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács told the Hungarian news agency MTI on Monday.
The Frankfurt newspaper reported on Sunday that the Visegrád Four have greatly contributed to the agreement with the introduction of the concept of flexible solidarity and that after the elections Prime Minister Viktor Orbán may become more willing to reach a compromise.
Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács commented on the article of FAZ as follows: it is no more than German electioneering hot air, and not a word of it is true.
He added: Hungary is opposed to the resettlement quotas out of principle as according to the position of the Hungarian Government and Prime Minister a free country such as Hungary cannot afford to allow others to decide who should enter the territory of the country.
