“The Government is expecting the reorganisation of government tasks to result in greater speed and efficiency”, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács said on Hungarian M1 television’s current affairs program on Thursday.
On the reasons for the reshuffle, Mr. Kovács said that the experiences of the past two years indicate that the efficiency of the pre-decision preparation process must be improved.
“Preparing for decisions within the area of the economy and strategy will be the main task of the two new cabinets that are being established”, he added.
“In view of the Prime Minister’s decision, the Cabinet will in future be split into two government cabinets, an Economic Cabinet and a Strategic Cabinet”, Minister heading the Prime Minister’s Office János Lázár announced at his usual Thursday press conference.
“Both Cabinets will be chaired by a Minister and will be decision-making and preparing bodies with set topics and issues according to the decision of Prime Minister Orbán”, the Minister explained.
