At a press conference in Budapest on Wednesday, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács announced the Government’s decision to set up a coordination committee under the auspices of the Centre for Counter-terrorism; the coordination committee’s task will be to improve work related to counter-terrorism and prevention.
Mr. Kovács said that the committee members will be representatives from relevant specialist services and institutions. The committee’s tasks will also be mainly operational and preventive. According to the Spokesperson, further details will be disclosed at tomorrow’s “Government Info” press conference. He remarked, however, that the decision will also be published in the form of a government resolution.
Following a meeting of the National Security Cabinet’s working group on Saturday morning convened in response to the Paris terror attacks, Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister György Bakondi said that the legislative work has started and it will already be on the agenda of Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting. On the basis of this, the new system of measures related to terrorist threats would be introduced.
