Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács told has Hungarian television channel M1 that families, work and security will be the focus of the 2018 budget.
He underlined that the aim is for a budget which continues to reduce taxes and which promotes previously launched, systematically implemented pay rise programmes. Compared with this year’s budget, an extra HUF 1,000 billion will also be made available in 2018. He stressed that this will not mean overspending, but will be made possible by the country’s performance and economic growth.
In relation to job creation, he pointed out that the state is seeking to eliminate regional inequalities with direct development programmes and measures promoting employment. He recalled that in 2010 the aim was one million new jobs, and 705,000 of these have already been created.
