László Botka’s statement about demolishing the fence has “let the cat out of the bag”, Government spokesperson Zoltán Kovács said on Hungarian M1 television’s Thursday evening current affairs program.

The statement by the Mayor of Szeged, who is campaigning to be the MSZP’s candidate for Prime Minister, “clearly corresponds to George Soros’s scenario”, he explained.

“In the European Union, ‘processes do not indicate that a consensus is likely to develop concerning what must be done along the EU’s borders’, because the recent ruling by the European Parliament ‘is the rejection of the Hungarian border and security policy’ that has enabled us to successfully reduce the level of illegal immigration to practically zero”, Mr. Kovács said.

“According to reports from the secret services there are increasing numbers of migrants ‘ready to pounce in the immediate vicinity of Europe’, which indicates that we should expect migration pressure to continue to exist not for one or two years, but for decades or generations”, the Government Spokesperson stressed.

With relation to the terrorist attack in Manchester, he declared that “terrorism has moved to a new level”, because the new element of targeting children and young people has generated universal outrage, even in a world in which terrorism has become global.
