The Hungarian community will commemorate the Day of National Cohesion, 4 June as part of an online programme, Minister of State for International Communication and Relations Zoltán Kovács informed the Hungarian news agency MTI on Wednesday.
He highlighted that on the evening before the Day of National Cohesion, at 8.00 p.m. on Wednesday, there will be a clip premiere of the song ‘My Country, My Country’ – a song of unity performed by Bíborka Bocskor, János Csík, Annamari Dancs, Heni Dér, György Ferenczi, Eszter Földes, Marianna Majorosi, Péter Makó, Misi Mező, Erika Miklósa, Ferenc Molnár ‘Caramel’, Levente Molnár, Péter Novák, Attila Nyerges, István Pál ‘Szalonna’, Attila Serbán, Tamás Szarka, Katalin Szvorák, Nikolas Takács and Tibor Tátrai.
On 4 June, Thursday the following programmes will be available for viewing on YouTube: A documentary about the signing of the Treaty of Trianon made in cooperation with the Public Foundation for Researching Central and Eastern European History and Society; a documentary about the temporary exhibition related to Trianon ‘A New World Was Born’ made in cooperation with the Public Foundation for Researching Central and Eastern European History and Society; Documentary of Trianon by Gábor Koltay; a film entitled ‘Cake Shop in Buda’ (1935); Transylvania – Gyergyószentmiklós: The Bagossy Brothers Company’s road movie; Vojvodina – Magda Rúzsa’s road movie.
From 10.00 a.m. viewers are free to join historian Gábor Balogh’s extraordinary history class about the history and consequences of the signing of the peace dictate.
Following this, between 12.00 p.m. and 4.00 p.m. concerts will take centre stage on the YouTube channel playlist and on artists’ YouTube channels – with Facebook notifications. Viewers will be able to follow performances by Kati Szvorák, Caramel, Erika Miklósa, Péter Novák, Ildikó Keresztes, Heni Dér and Nikolas Takács, among others, on YouTube.
The programme will conclude with Day of National Cohesion concerts by István Pál ‘Szalonna’ from 4.30 p.m., Ákos from 6.00 p.m., Ismerős Arcok from 8.00 p.m. and Csík Zenekar from 9.00 p.m., and finally from 10.00 p.m. with a song composed by László Tolcsvay for the Day of National Cohesion.
