The Operational Group will make recommendations with respect to the operation of theatres, cinemas and museums after the state of danger and about whether events can be organised, the Government Spokesperson said on the Thursday evening programme of the public service television news channel M1.
Alexandra Szentkirályi indicated that Parliament could adopt a decision on the termination of the state of danger on 16 June, and the relevant legislative act could be promulgated a few days later.
She stressed that the extraordinary powers had been necessary in order to make the decisions which had led to the successful containment of the epidemic in good time.
She said a state of disease control preparedness will remain in effect because as long as there is no vaccine for the virus, “we cannot be completely safe”. The Operational Group will remain in session and the Chief Medical Officer will have special powers in connection with her area of activities.
