The opposition continues to lie regarding the amendment of the Labour Code, Government Spokesperson István Hollik said.

With Friday’s anti-government demonstration the opposition deceived the people again; “it is a lie” that workers can be forced to complete overtime, and that overtime will only be paid to workers three years later, he said.

By contrast, the truth is, he highlighted, that overtime can only be performed with the employee’s voluntary consent, and the wages due for any overtime work must be paid at the end of the month.

The reason for these lies is that the opposition lost the spring parliamentary elections, and therefore they are attempting to seize power with street violence, he said. “In this attempt the opposition is supported by George Soros with money and through his own NGOs, as George Soros wants to weaken and bring down governments that are opposed to immigration”, he added.

Mr Hollik said it is regrettable that, after recent acts of vandalism and aggression, a further act of vandalism was committed when a smoke bomb was thrown at the building of the office of the President of the Republic.
