The questionnaire of the national consultation will feature thirteen questions, the Minister of State for International Communication and Relations announced on his Facebook account on Thursday.

Zoltán Kovács highlighted that the coronavirus also had a major impact on the economies of European countries.

There are many plans about how to combat these impacts and regarding economic measures to be taken in Europe in the future. These include George Soros’s plan. According to his plan, countries should issue perpetual bonds on which individual states and their inhabitants could pay interest for generations, “effectively indefinitely”. We would like to ask the Hungarian people what they think about this proposal, this plan as “it concerns all our future,” the Minister of State said.

He also highlighted that in consequence of the coronavirus epidemic, many businesses and companies had found themselves on the verge of bankruptcy.

They would like to ask the Hungarian people what action could be taken to counter hostile takeovers as, he added, highly capitalised foreign businesses and investors could take over Hungarian enterprises.

The consultation will also include a question about the decision of the Court of Justice of the European Union which ruled that temporarily detaining in transit zones migrants heading for the European Union is illegal. They will further ask the Hungarian people whether the strict protection and guarding of the Hungarian borders should be maintained, in light of the fact that this involves the preservation of security not only in Hungary, but also in the whole of the European Union.

Mr Kovács stressed that the coronavirus epidemic had not eliminated the threats posed by migration; in actual fact, based on news reports originating from the Balkans and migrant routes, one can observe that the two are connected. They would like to ask members of the public questions about this issue as well.

The Minister of State said they are asking everyone – the same as on the eight previous occasions – to share their thoughts and opinions and to return the questionnaires.

Those who are unable to do so will later have the possibility to complete the questionnaire online, he added.
