“According to the countries of the Visegrád Group (V4), the European Union integration process that takes away spheres of competence from Member States is unacceptable”, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács said in an interview on M1 Hungarian television on Monday.

According to the Spokesperson, it would instead be expedient to have a process that stressed sovereignty, and accordingly strengthens the whole of Europe.

Speaking from Rome, Mr. Kovács added that Hungary represents a consistent standpoint with relation to illegal immigration, and is not alone in doing so because the countries of the V4 also share this viewpoint.
