“Following the trumped-up conflicts of recent years, the time has now come for the development of Hungarian-Slovenian economic, energy and cultural cooperation”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said on Saturday in reaction to the new Slovenian government taking office.

In a message published on his public media page, Mr. Szijjártó emphasised that both nations will profit from cooperation. “Hungary is ready to embark on joint work based on mutual respect”, he added. On Friday evening, Slovenian Parliament gave its vote of confidence to the transitional centre-right coalition government led by Janez Jansa.
