In reference to the Visegrád countries’ (V4) summit held in Prague, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács told daily papers Magyar Hírlap and Magyar Idők on Saturday that European solidarity is not measured by “some kind of quotas” or forced measures, but by EU Member States jointly and decisively stepping up in the interest of common issues.

The Government Spokesperson emphasised that the unity displayed by V4 countries throughout the migration issue is of highest importance.

Mr. Kovács said that this unified stance is proof of how effective cooperation in Europe works and how joint measures can be taken towards a solution “if we approach the issue from the right direction, with appropriate suggestions”.
