The Visegrád Four (Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia) bear an ample share of solidarity in the issue of illegal immigration. As proof of this, they will now make a contribution of EUR 35 million (HUF 11 billion) to the initiative which is aimed at protecting the Libyan borders, the Government Spokesperson stated on the Thursday evening programme of the public service television news channel M1.

Zoltán Kovács said that the quotas are a consequence of a series of irresponsible actions as a great many migrants came to Europe because certain Member States failed to protect the EU’s external borders despite their respective obligations.

Helping Christian communities in the Middle East is the most effective way of stopping the mass population movement, the Government Spokesperson stressed, remarking: the idea of the quota system is flawed, the quotas are nothing but an invitation.
