On Friday, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács told public television channel M1 that the year of 2016 will also be centered around illegal migration, and the problems and security issues it has brought about.
Pressure is increasing on the southern borders of Europe that are still unprotected, but it is the threat coming from Brussels that is the most regrettable, he added.
Mandatory resettlement quotas are still on the agenda, and this poses exactly the same kind of danger as the primary form of illegal migration that is trying to enter the EU by crossing at the green borders, the Government Spokesman explained.
Mr. Kovács added that it has been one of the greatest achievements of the past year that a common V4 position could be established: solidarity is not about supporting the idea of mandatory resettlement quotas but about jointly protecting external borders and stepping up for the security of everyday’s life.
