The National Assembly is scheduled to debate the amendments proposed by the National Competitiveness Council with the aim of improving regulatory environment for businesses, Minister for National Economy Mihály Varga stated earlier today. Provided these recommendations are approved, the new regulations may enter into force as early as this summer, he said.
In the Council, options which may yield results in terms of competitiveness, as outlined by the World Bank’s Doing Business survey, even within a short period of time have been discussed. Several procedures may get simpler and cheaper, among them the building permits for investment projects and the establishment of businesses, Mihály Varga pointed out.
Preparations have begun to elaborate long-term measures on the basis of Council proposals. Among these the Minister mentioned the extension of on-line services in the highest possible number of fields, the further reform of the vocational education system and business tax returns made by the NAV (National Tax and Customs Administration).
