Never before have German enterprises valued the Hungarian economy so highly, it transpired from this year’s business survey by the German-Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The level of satisfaction of German companies is indicated by the fact that the ratio of enterprises that would like to realise further investments in Hungary increased by 3 percentage points to 84 percent compared to last year.

The assessment of the Hungarian economic situation has also improved in regional comparison, catching up to and even exceeding the European average in several fields. The majority of German companies expect things to improve even further in all respects this year. 54 percent of German companies expect their own course of business to improve, according to the report.

With relation to tax policy, the enterprises polled regard the coming into force of the reduction in corporation tax in 2017 and the cut in social security contributions in 2018 as positive. 53 percent of German companies plan to hire more employees this year.
