Output in the construction sector has recently soared, and the Government wants to maintain a steady and balance growth rate, Minister for National Economy Mihály Varga said at a press conference where a construction sector summit, to be held this Friday, was announced. This meeting will make cooperation between the Government and domestic construction enterprises in the handling of the challenges faced by the sector even more efficient, he added.
The Government wants construction sector projects implemented in Hungary to meet the expectations of our era, and to be of high standards and competitive in terms of pricing, the Minister stressed. This would help maintain the sector’s momentum behind rising output growth and increase the share of the sector’s contribution to the country’s GDP growth. On the other hand, it would also help increase the number of construction sector enterprises and safeguard jobs, Mihály Varga pointed out.
In August and September 2017, the sector’s output rose by 36 percent and 23 percent year-on-year, respectively.
At the upcoming summit, participants are to discuss, among others, support measures and incentives designed for the construction sector and instruments for the efficient assistance of the development of small enterprises. These companies must be assisted in organizing operational procedures, the adaptation of new technologies and in obtaining proper knowledge and skills.
