The volume of retail sales has increased by more than 8 per cent in the first month of this year compared to the same period of the previous year – Minister for National Economy Mihály Varga announced.

Sales turnover of food and beverages stores increased by 5.5%, the non-food sector saw an 11.1% increase, while fuel retail recorded 9.5% growth.  Owing to the fact that the volume of retail sales has been on the rise for one and a half years, in 2015, turnover has reached the level recorded before the crisis.
