The Government’s strategic partners created some 13 thousand new jobs and increased investment by several hundreds of billions of forints, Minister for National Economy Mihály Varga said, evaluating results achieved since the signing of cooperation agreement with Siemens Ltd two years ago at the company’s production facility in Csepel.
Siemens Ltd has been a leading force not only in job creation, but concerning dual education and research development as well, the Minister stressed. The Government of Hungary decided in 2010 to upgrade cooperation with large enterprises active in Hungary, Mihály Varga said.
Achievements reached so far have met prior expectations: the Government’s strategic partners created some 14 thousand new jobs, increased investment, added to the number of existing Hungarian suppliers and more and more of them have joined the dual education system.
Corporations active in Hungary keep re-investing billions of forints of their profits into the Hungarian economy. Thanks to that, the value of investment projects realized in 2014 was more than HUF 5200bn, and thus Hungary’s investment rate saw record growth of 14 percent. At the company’s production site in Csepel the number of employees has risen by 200 since the signing of the document in 2013. Mihály Varga called the role which Siemens plays in the dual education system “exemplary”. The Government had assisted in building a modern vocational training workshop, in which 95 apprentices have been trained since September.
Siemens Hungary Ltd CEO Dale A Martin outlined in his speech results which the company has achieved in the field of education cooperation, research-development and job creation. Summarizing predictions on future outlook, he emphasised that Hungary has started and will also launch several development projects which may require the know-how and strong presence of Siemens, especially in areas such as the upgrading of the railway network, infrastructure and energy supply. As the CEO added, the value of development projects implemented in Csepel by the company over the past two years totalled HUF 1.5bn.
