The development of the product has cost some EUR 1 million, of which EUR 400 thousand was provided as EU funding. Compared to traditional bodies, that of Evopro’s bus weighs two tons less and it is made of a non-corroding material for which the company gives a 30-year warranty. The engine can be purely electricity-powered or complemented by a diesel- or gas engine.

The owner did not reveal the selling price of the bus, but he said that such vehicles cost EUR 400-500 thousand on international markets.

As the Minister of State added, these days crude oil sells for some USD 110 per barrel, but experts are prognosticating that this price will double in ten years. Electricity, however, can be generated in various ways, among them by nuclear power from the Paks power plant.
