The Government wants Hungary’s tourism sector growth to remain balanced, Minister for National Economy Mihály Varga told at the event entitled “Hungary, á la carte”, organized by Hungarian Tourism Ltd.
Mihály Varga noted that tourism data have repeatedly broken records this year and last, thanks to the exemplary cooperation of the ministry, professional organizations and tourism companies.
The Minister pointed out that the number of guests, the volume of revenues at accommodation establishments and the total volume of revenues rose by 7.4 percent, 12.6 percent and 10.4 percent, respectively, in 2015. Favourable trends are in place also this year, as statistics show dynamic growth in the first half of 2016, he added.
Besides the domestic and foreign representatives of the tourism sector, managers of large Hungarian enterprise s have also participated at the event, which aims to present Hungary’s gastro-tourism in a new light.
