Hungary’s economic performance confirms the success of strategic cooperation agreements

The Government’s strategic partners created some 13 thousand new jobs and increased investment by several hundreds of billions of forints, Minister for National Economy Mihály Varga said, evaluating results achieved since the signing of cooperation agreement with Siemens Ltd two years ago at the company’s production facility in Csepel.
Prices unchanged in the month of August 2015

August was again a month with subdued and highly favourable inflation in Hungary. In comparison to the corresponding period of the previous year, consumer price inflation was flat. In the initial eight months of 2015, consumer prices fell by 0.2 percent year-on-year.
Positive industrial output trend set to continue in the second half of 2015

In light of data from the month of July, the volume of industrial output is expected to rise also in the second half of the year, Minister of State for Economic Regulation Béla Glattfelder told public news channel M1, commenting on preliminary data released by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH).
Budget deficit target attainable despite EU funding backlog

The central sub sector of the state budget accumulated a deficit of HUF 914.9bn at the end of August 2015. Within that, the central budget posted a deficit of HUF 980.2bn, while Social Security Funds and Extra-Budgetary State Funds posted surpluses of HUF 33.7bn and HUF 31.6bn, respectively.
More than 150 electric charging points to be installed in Hungary

The Government can state that it has been successful in preparing and adopting the Ányos Jedlik Plan and the related Jedlik Action Plan, Minister for National Economy Mihály Varga said at the inauguration of the newest electric charging point in Budapest. The Government is to fund the development of electromobility infrastructure through revenues from CO2 quota sales.

Tourism cooperation with China set to improve further

The China-CEE Tourism Cooperation project aims to become an active participant of the Chinese “One Belt-One Road” foreign trade strategy, Minister for National Economy Mihály Varga said following the second high-level symposium of the initiative, which includes China and 16 countries from the Central and Eastern European region. A Memorandum of Understanding on joining the project was signed following a strategic forum in Bled, Slovenia.
