Chief Veterinarian and the Ministry of Agriculture’s Minister of State Lajos Bognár and China’s Chief Veterinarian Zhang Zhongqui signed a cooperation agreement on closer cooperation between the two countries’ animal health authorities at a meeting in Budapest on 19 May.
The main subject of the meeting was to mutually present the Hungarian and Chinese animal health authority systems, in addition to which Mr. Bodnár also briefed his colleague on the current Hungarian status of the bird flu epidemic.
Closer professional cooperation is expected to have a favourable effect on Hungary in future with regard to the fields of both science and trade.
During his visit to Hungary, China’s Chief Veterinarian visited the National Reference Laboratory of the National Food Chain Safety Office’s Directorate for Animal Health Diagnostics. The parties initiated cooperation between the relevant Chinese and Hungarian institutions. It is extremely important for the Ministry of Agriculture to successfully develop close cooperation at international level and to continue to reinforce mutual interests in future.
