A series of events was held between 27 February and 2 March 2017 with the involvement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Hungarian Embassies in Podgorica and Skopje to promote the scholarship programmes offered by the Hungarian Government.
At the events, members of the delegation from the Szent István University, which participates in the Stipendium Hungaricum and the FM_FAO scholarships programmes, Dean of the Agriculture and Environmental Studies faculty Dr. Katalin Posta, Deputy Dean of the Economic and Social Sciences faculty Dr. Henrietta Nagy and Deputy Dean of the Horticultural Sciences faculty Dr. Zsolt Erős-Hont, gave lectures.
The University officials and agricultural diplomat for the region Bálint illés showcased Hungary’ universities and scholarship programmes in both capital cities, as well as informing those present about current developments within the fields of agriculture and rural development. In addition to prospective students, representatives for Montenegrin and Macedonian scientific life and public administration, as well as several representatives of international organisations, also attended the events.
On the sidelines of the series of events, the relative Hungarian Embassies also organised bilateral meeting with representatives from Montenegrin and Macedonian universities and leading officials from the Ministries involved. Both the local higher education institutions and the relative ministries showed great interest in the visit by the Hungarian delegation. During the meeting, concrete proposals were made regarding student and teacher exchange programmes, research and publications, and the joint organisation of conferences and workshops. Montenegrin and Macedonian universities are planning to sign a cooperation agreement with the Szent István University in the near future.
