The program of races and events, which has now grown to be an annual tradition, drew large crowds at Budapest’s Heroes’ Square. The winners were presented with their awards by Minister of Agriculture Sándor Fazekas.
The two-day programme of equestrian races included the extremely popular Race of Stars, in which Hungarian celebrities compete for charity.
The final of the National Gallop was won by Gyöngyi Molnár from Tahitótfalu on her horse Iceman, who in addition to the 5 million forint first prize and the title of fastest rider of 2014 also took home the Gallop Sword, the emblematic weapon of Hungary’s 19th century hussars, which is passed on to the winner each year.
The PreVital International Race was also won by a Hungarian. Riders from a total of 72 towns and cities from Hungary and abroad took part in the event, for which one of Budapest’s main tourist attractions, Heroes’ Square, is especially transformed for the occasion every year.
