Minister of Agriculture Sándor Fazekas launched the special electronic money transfer system for the distribution of SAPS payments and special milk funding on Thursday, at a press conference held at Solum Zrt. in Komárom. A total of HUF 341.1bn (EUR 1.11bn) in SAPS payments may be distributed with reference to 2014 applications. During the first stage of payments, more than HUF 47bn will be disbursed to some 102,000 applicants.
The program of races and events, which has now grown to be an annual tradition, drew large crowds at Budapest’s Heroes’ Square. The winners were presented with their awards by Minister of Agriculture Sándor Fazekas.
The V4+4 agriculture ministers, attending a session in Budapest on Tuesday, welcomed the EUs ruling to allow member states to decide on the cultivation of GMOs within their own national sphere of authority, the Minister of Agriculture emphasised at a press conference following the meeting. The decision is a significant success for Hungarian agrarian diplomacy, Minister Sándor Fazekas added.
