Minister of Defence Dr. István Simicskó received Russian Deputy Minister of Defence Yuriy Ivanovich Borisov for a courtesy visit in Budapest on Wednesday, 1 February.

The Russian Deputy Defence Minister is in Budapest as a member of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s delegation, who will be arriving in Budapest tomorrow. During the meeting, in addition to defence policy and defence-related economic relations, the parties also discussed bilateral military cooperation and the maintenance of military graves.

During the courtesy visit, Minster of Defence Simicskó stressed that Hungary is counting on continued fair cooperation with Russia, as occurred with regard to the refurbishing of Mi-17 transport helicopters.
