“10 million 700 thousand masks have arrived in Hungary during the past 24 hours”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI on Wednesday.
“The key issue with relation to healthcare protection continues to be that suitable quantities of good quality special protective equipment is at the disposal of doctors and nurses, because this is how they may be protected from being infected, and this is how it may be made possible for them to continue to perform the extremely important work that they have performed outstandingly in recent months successfully in future”, the Minister explained.
“This is why the airlift between China and Hungary is operating continuously, and has already brought ten of millions of pieces of special protective equipment to Hungary”, Mr. Szijjártó said. “During the past twenty-four hours, 10 million 700 thousand face masks have arrived in Hungary on board three large cargo planes, in addition to which 900 litres of disinfectant fluid and 24,600 isolation jackets have also arrived, which serve to protect doctors and nurses who are coming into direct contact with infected patients”, he stated.
“The airlift between China and Hungary will be continuing to operate continuously during the upcoming days”, the Minister emphasised. Five more cargo planes will be arriving in Hungary on Thursday. These planes are currently awaiting loading and take-off permission at Chinese airports”, he added.
