“Equipment necessary for healthcare protection against the coronavirus epidemic arrived in Hungary last week aboard 21 aeroplanes and 3 heavy goods vehicles”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said on Monday in Parliament.

In his pre-agenda speech, the Minister said that over the past week 22.5 million face masks, including 20.65 million surgical masks and 1.85 million masks that provide a higher level of protection, were shipped to Hungary. “This means that since the outbreak of the virus epidemic, a total of 72,954,890 masks have arrived in Hungary, which is roughly half of the total amount ordered. We are awaiting the shipment of a further 75,852,550 face masks”, he stated.

Mr. Szijjártó also informed the General Assembly of the fact that 220 respirators, 50 thousand tests and over 10.6 million pieces of protective clothing also arrived in Hungary over the course of last week.
