“Forty-three Hungarian citizens have been brought home from Israel because of the coronavirus pandemic”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in a video posted on his Facebook page on Thursday.
In addition to the 43 Hungarians, the plane that landed in Budapest also brought with it 31 Austrian, German Czech and Slovakian citizens “since we are helping each other”, he explained. The Minister said that a total of 3700 Hungarian citizens have been given assistance to return home to date. “This number will increase, and we are working to bring every Hungarian home”, he emphasised.
Mr. Szijjártó also mentioned that on Thursday in Sofia he had come to an agreement with his Bulgarian counterpart concerning the fact that 9 Hungarians will be able to board a Bulgarian rescue plane in Delhi and leave India bound for Sofia, from where they will be able to come home to Hungary.
