“A thirteenth border crossing point along the Hungarian-Slovakian border will be reopened this morning, this time at Nógrádszakál-Ráróspuszta”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced on his social media page on Tuesday morning.
The Minister added that his colleague, Minister of Agriculture István Nagy and the region’s Member of Parliament Mihály Balla have been calling for this step for some time in the interests of making life easier for people who live in the vicinity of the border, and primarily for farmers whose land is on the other side of the border, or who perform agricultural work there. “Today, we have taken another step back towards normality, which isn’t a bad sign at all prior to the visit by the Slovakian Foreign Minister – let the day begin!”, Mr. Szijjártó rote in his Facebook post.
