“All border crossing points along the Slovakian-Hungarian and Austrian-Hungarian border will be open from Friday evening”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced on his Facebook page.

“As a result of today’s foreign affairs and border security meetings, we are able to end this day with a piece of good news: all of the border crossing points along both the Austrian-Hungarian and Slovakian-Hungarian border will be reopened, including all those that were previously closed to slow the spread of the coronavirus pandemic”, Mr. Szijjártó wrote in a Facebook post on Friday evening. “Beginning this evening, we may now enter Slovakia via 34 border crossing points and Austria via 30 border crossing points, meaning we can now put the long detours behind us”, he added.
