“The aeroplane that will be bringing 120 Hungarians home, primarily from North America, will be landing in Budapest on Thursday”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI.

“The largest rescue operation in Hungary’s history has been going on for three months now”, the Minister explained. “9529 Hungarians have been brought home from 116 countries around the world to date, and the return of a further 624 is under organisation”, he stated.
“The third rescue flight that is bringing Hungarians home from North America will be landing in Budapest on Thursday. This time it will be picking up a total of 120 Hungarians from New York, Miami, Toronto, and on the trip home from Reykjavik”, he highlighted. “21 Slovakian, 4 Czech 4 Slovenian and 2 Austrian citizens will also be brought home aboard the flight within the framework of Central European cooperation”, he noted.
“In the upcoming period, we will be continuing to work to bring home Hungarians who are stranded abroad, for as long as the restrictive measures affecting international civil aviation remain in place”, Mr Szijjártó emphasised.
