Hungary strongly condemns the terrorist attack committed against the Italian Consulate in Cairo at the weekend which claimed one human life. In consequence of the attack, ten people were also injured, and the building accommodating the foreign representation sustained extensive damage.

We reassure Egypt and Italy of our full solidarity in connection with the incident. The attack repeatedly underlined the importance of a united international stance against terrorism, something which Hungary has always urged. We wish to express our condolences to the family of the deceased, and wish the injured a swift recovery.
