On 27 October 2015 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade László Szabó met Italian Deputy Foreign Minister Benedetto Della Vedova in Budapest.

During the talks they have praised the wide-ranging bilateral relations of the two countries that date back many centuries. Minister Szabó and his Italian counterpart have discussed the possibilities of further developing bilateral economic co-operation. The Deputy Foreign Ministers have also exchanged their views on the challenges stemming from the migration crisis, benefits and duties of EU Member States, as well as the need for joint thinking about the EU’s future. In order to continue the constructive dialogue Mr. Szabó has asked his Italian counterpart to kindly forward an invitation to Budapest form the part of Minister Szijjártó to Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni.
