Deputy State Secretary Kristóf Altusz paid a visit to Lithuania on 8-9 December 2014.
In Vilnius, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs he met Vice-Minister Neris Germanas and Head of the European Union Department Vidmantas Purlys.
The aim of the consultations was to facilitate both political and economic relations between Hungary and Lithuania. Hungary’s active contribution to the NATO reassurance measures in the Baltic States and in particular in Lithuania was underlined during the discussions. The parties also exchanged views on the most important international topics such as the Eastern Partnership of the EU, European energy security, EU enlargement and security policy.
The Deputy State Secretary also met Mantas Adomėnas, Member of the Seimas and Vice-Chairman of the Lithuanian-Hungarian IPU Friendship Group.
As a guest speaker Mr. Altusz participated in a round table discussion at the Institute of International Relations and Political Science, Vilnius University on the subject of the foreign policy priorities of Hungary.
