Deputy State Secretary for Foreign Economic Affairs Dr. Petra Pana was in Kosovo for a two-day working visit on 20-21 April 2016, during the course of which she held discussions with her Kosovan partners on opportunities for foreign economic cooperation. She met with Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Mr. Isa Mustafa, Kosovan Minister of Agriculture Memli Kraniqi, Finance Minister Avdullah Hoti and Director-General of the Kosovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs Valdet Sadiku.

During the negotiations, Dr. Pana stressed that Hungary is willing to support the economic development of Kosovo via job creation resulting from future Hungarian investment and through cooperation on education.

During her meeting with Director-General of the Kosovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs Valdet Sadiku, the parties reviewed Hungarian-Kosovan relations, on the subject of which Ms. Pana told the press that political relations between the two countries are stable, with excellent opportunities in the field of economic relations.

Accompanying the Deputy State Secretary at her meeting with Prime Minister Isa Mustafa and her later talks with Kosovan Minister of Agriculture Memli Kraniqi was Chairman of the National Association of Hungarian Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers (MEGOSZ) László Lőrincz. During the talk, Ms. Pana stressed that the field of agriculture holds major opportunities to strengthen economic cooperation. Accordingly, the parties discussed possible directions for future cooperation.

Deputy State Secretary Pana also met with Minister of Finance Avdullah Hoti, with whom she discussed opportunities for job-creating Hungarian investment projects. Dr. Pana ended her trip with a visit to Pristina University’s Faculty of Agriculture, where she listened to Mr. Lőrincz’s lecture on opportunities relating to the Hungarian agricultural machinery sector.
